Tomaž Skapin

Tomaž Skapin

After graduation in 1981 from the University of Ljubljana, Tomaž Skapin joined the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and Technology of the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI), Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received his Ph.D. in 1992 from the University of Ljubljana under the supervision of Professor Andrej Šmalc. In the period 2006-2010, he was the head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and Technology; currently he is working as a Senior Research Associate at the same department of the JSI. Since 2008, he is appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School. In 2010, he was a Chairman of the 16th European Symposium on Fluorine Chemistry that was held in Ljubljana. His main research interests are related to solid inorganic metal fluorides that exhibit some unconventional nano/macro structural features for possible catalytic and environmental applications.
