Thierry Billard has pursued studies in various fields and he received, inter alia, an engineer diploma in chemistry. He then joined Dr. B. Langlois’ laboratory and then obtained his PhD from the University of Lyon in 1996. After a postdoctoral internship with Prof. L. Ghosez (Belgium), he was appointed in 1999 as a CNRS permanent researcher. He was promoted to Research Director by the CNRS in 2008. His research activities are interdisciplinary between chemistry and medicine. His interests focus on fluorine chemistry, medicinal chemistry and radiochemistry and their applications in medical imaging and neurosciences.
