Sergiy Pazenok, Ph.D., grew up und studied in Kiev. He received his Dipl. Chem. degree from the Kiev State University and obtained his doctorate degree from Institute of Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine under the supervision of Prof. Lev Yagupolskii. After several years of research in the department of Prof. Lev Yagupolskii in Kiev and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cologne with Prof. Dr. D. Naumann he joined the department of Fluorine Chemistry in the Central Research of Hoechst AG in Frankfurt on Main and in 1999 he joined AgrEvo. Since 2002 he has been working in the Research Technologies department of Bayer CropScience located in Monheim, where he is currently a laboratory leader and senior fellow researcher in Process Research. His main interests are organic fluorine chemistry, fluorination and fluorination reagents and industrial fluorine chemistry.
