Resnati is full professor at the Politecnico di Milano since 2001. During the last thirty years his interests in fluorine chemistry encompassed the role of fluorine in self-assembly phenomena and crystal engineering, new synthetic approaches based on perfluorinated catalyst, reagents, and solvents, and the asymmetric synthesis of bioactive fluoroorganic compounds. He is author of more than three hundred and thirty original papers on high impact journals, of several reviews, of chapters in books, of entries in technical encyclopedias. He is the inventor of seven patents valid in most WTO countries. Resnati is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Fluorine Chemistry (2001 onwards), served as Chair of the 21 ^st International Symposium of Fluorine Chemistry (2015, Como, Italy), he was in the International Advisory Board of the last five International Symposia of Fluorine Chemistry and the last five European Symposia of Fluorine Chemistry.
